Bio

Sensei Alex Galea (taken at Shuri Castle Okinawa Japan)
3rd Dan Black Belt, Karate
6th Dan Black Belt, Kobudo

Instructor (sensei) Alex Galea has over 35 years of martial arts experience across various styles and disciplines. Some of which includes karate styles GoJu-Kai and Naha-Te, Wing Chun Kung Fu with predominant experience of the last 26 years in Okinawan Goju-Ryu Meibukan.

Meibukan translates to school of the pure warrior, this is a hard soft traditional karate style that originates from Okinawa Japan lead by Masaaki Ikemiyagi (Hanshi 9th dan).

To complement this training, sensei Alex has also been studying kobudo Kobu-kai for over 10 years. Kobudo Kobu-kai is a style of traditional Okinawan weaponry lead by founder Takahsi Kinjo (Hanshi 10th dan).

Our goal is to always take the time to provide detail, insight where ever we can, there is always another way to solve a problem, and "when in doubt train it out."
Passing on knowledge, and training others is by far my greatest driver. "You don't really know what you know until you have to teach kids" and as such have been running branch classes for over 10 years.
